it is wintertime after all, so it makes perfect sense to head to where there’s snow, at least for a little recreation and an adorable restaurant and bar. today we’re dropping in on bread bar in Silver Plume, Colorado — a fine mountainside drinking establishment at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, housed in a 1800s-era bakery in an old mining town. how charming is that? i love old towns like this and would love to visit either now to warm up with a whiskey drink or later on in the summertime when bread bar puts on live music on their outdoor deck. either sounds pretty idyllic. we’re going to layer up for our trip this time, with a fun graphic tee, cozy cashmere sweater and a fun faux leather puffer jacket. throw on your favorite jeans and some comfy boots and you’re ready for winter. while you sip on your hot toddy we suggest checking out warlight, the new book from author of The English Patient — a dramatic story set in the decade after World War II told through the lives of a small group of unexpected and interesting characters.
