happy summer one and all. i’m ready for it, how about you? i’m looking into the possibility of a trip to paris in july, but damn these airline prices! please keep your fingers crossed for me i can make it happen! i’ve just gotta get away, but that said, laguna beach is a pretty nice place to be stuck so i’m not complaining. lots of summer reading in my plans, too. i just finished oh william! by elizabeth strout and loved it so much. i highly recommend it and now i’m going to read a few more of her novels. have a great weekend and i hope you enjoy this week’s friday finds!

xo, victoria

  1. sorry, not sorry, but i’m still obsessing over insteresting and somewhat whimsical tablescapes. i love this table linen collection by Carolina Irving textiles featured on architectural digest — you can view her entire collections here. they’re just lovely!
  2. i love a good vintage cupboard in kitchens and this pretty green one from devol kitchens is perfecto! the color is so statement-making and summery which really makes all the difference in a kitchen. plus it looks fab with those vintage paintings. you can check out all of devol’s vintage pieces on their website.
  3. on my travel list is San Miguel De Allende and optimally i’d just love to stay at the very charming MESóN HIDALGO. their uniquely eclectic guest rooms are what dreams are made of and so very camera-worthy. The guest house was founded in 2019 as an intimate collaboration between four women-led brands rooted in México — a designer, a silversmith, a clothier, and a perfumer. i’m aching to visit.
  4. i’ve been following photographer alicia bock since our old flickr days and happily, that remains true today on instagram. i love this ‘sea foam’ series in her print shop. she shot it both at sunrise and this lovely image at sunset. you can find all her art prints in her shop, and follow her on instagram for new prints.
  5. i stumbled upon the greatest kitchen linens shop quite by accident — designer julie peach commented on one of my Instagram stories about the hell that is online dating and voilá i checked out her feed and was smitten with her hand-printed collection. i especially love this olive branch tea towel print and grabbed a set!
  6. i love everything about this sweet vignette posted by @folie_chambre. the vintage portrait painting is sublime but the mirror is a stunner too and it all works so well together. it’s called the bobby mirror from Folie Chambre, their Yorkshire-based design studio founded by Natalie Tillison and if you love it too you can find it in their shop in a bunch of great colors. so fun!
  7. i got so excited when i found this diy post on bellerose. i’ve been looking to do some fabric dyeing using natural elements and this post tells us exactly what’s needed and a step-by-step guide to doing it ourselves with natural dyes found in things in nature like onion skins, coffee grounds, black tea, and turmeric for example. i’m so doing this.
  8. have you ever heard of lotus land? it’s in the quiet town of Montecito, near santa barbara — an estate owned by the late polish opera singer Madame Ganna Walska who purchased the property in 1941 and since her death has been put into a foundation in her name to maintain the property and now a destination for viewing the incredible cacti and succulents gardens she created, and, of course, the water garden full of lotus. it’s on my gotta-go-to-list, too.
